Vintage kitchen implements

Most of our kitchen bits and pieces we have had for many years and some not as long but all are used often and treasured because of the memories past and present.....
Some are from op shops and garage sales. The strainer is a favourite and came from our church garage sale. As it was from the kitchen of a friend's mother it has memories of terrific sweet scones etc associated with it.....
These once belonged to my mother-in-law and were brought out from Holland to a new kitchen in New Zealand and are now much used in an Aussie kitchen. Very good memories of a wonderful lady.....
More op shop treasures.....
This is the best fine sifter I have ever used.....
Knife steel, as we discovered when trying it out yesterday has gone past its used by date.....

Recycled colour in the home

Found this sign at my local dump shop and the butter beans from the garden are proving to be daily specials.....
Love the old blue glass bottle as a vase with gum leaves.....
The shelved box came from a very old shop and is good to use for the cook books.....
Kitchen work bench was originally from a local high school.....
Coffee bags as outdoor cushions.....
This former local pub sign is the reverse side of the other one.....useful items for a very small outlay - and a great way to help our overloaded environment.....

Enjoying the day

It's always a pleasure to brew a coffee and go outside to enjoy the spring morning.....
With a book full of encouraging sayings - taking time.....
To observe the inspiration of God's creation that surrounds us.....
Even all the falling mango leaves.....
But especially the sound of busy beautiful parrots.....

So let us enjoy the day for this is the day the Lord has made.....
