Garlic Harvest

6 months of winter growing but strange things happen under the ground.....

These are very garlicky, smell great but look like giant leeks.....

And the very few mini REAL GARLIC BULBS that appeared. Was it the Queensland weather?.....

Silverton, NSW

The following are a few snippets of a lino print we purchased of Silverton at night.....

Silverton is one of my favourite places and as the film MAD MAX was filmed around Broken Hill when we lived there, it has some special memories for the family. Especially the day I collected some Tibooburra kids from the boarding hostel in the Hill and they asked to be taken to the film site. Travelling along the dirt road, car loaded with kids we saw the gyrocopter featured in the film flying toward us. The kids were hanging out the windows, VERY EXCITED, until it came straight at us and we were dive bombed - I had eye contact with the pilot!. Not once but twice we were given the thrill of any outback kid's life except they were screaming and I was instructed to "Put your foot down Mrs G and get out of here" and I was out of there. I might add I had ignored the NO VISITORS TO FILM SITE sign.

Ann, Lois, Rhonda, Andi and myself enjoyed an early spring lunch in the local park.....

Jack's bush birthday

A beautiful bush setting with a small creek to explore, but first the bunting to hang.....

Spent the day last week experimenting with more monoprints - can't leave the fox just yet.....

Or the cockatoos.....

Have just completed a few etchings still around the fox and cockatoo and looking forward to printing them next week.....

Shine Women's Conference

What a great day it was, full of great music and uplifting messages but with challenges.....

The band Krysalus gave a message through song that we humans judge others by the outside appearance but God is not like us - God does not look at the outward appearance but looks at the heart.....

One of the speakers, Marg, also gave a message about judging by outward appearances and dressed for the part.....

Lucy Lennon (on the right) of Lennon's Circus ran away from the circus and her story was one every woman should not miss - an amazing transformed life.....

Our key speaker - ALIKI - singer, songwriter was inspiring and encouraging through her messages and music.....

And the stories of children that were heartbreaking and uplifting.....

Over 90 women had a fantastic day and we look forward to next year's SHINE CONFERENCE.....
